Shift schedule maker

Pick a common rotation or type your own pattern, then print a calendar for every crew.

Shift times, holidays and more

Set the date crew A starts day 1 of the cycle, pick your crew to highlight it, then print the year or download your shifts as a calendar file for your phone.

Find my crew

Not sure which crew you are? Enter up to four dates and what you worked (a mix of work days and days off works best). The calendar switches to the crew that matches.

Check a date

For call coverage outside regular shifts, print an on-call schedule.

Find my crew: not sure which crew you are? Enter a few dates you worked or had off and the calendar lines itself up with your rotation. Download your shifts with their real start and end times to your phone calendar, show federal holidays, or check any date to see who is on.

Making a custom rotation

Type one crew's pattern as letters: D for a day shift, N for a night shift, W for a 24-hour shift and O for a day off. DDNNOOOO means 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off. The maker spreads the crews evenly through the cycle; with 8 days and 4 crews, each crew starts 2 days after the one before.

How to use it

  1. Pick the date your crew A starts the cycle (the first day of its pattern).
  2. Choose the months to show, and highlight your own crew if you want.
  3. Print the year, or download your crew's shifts as a calendar file for your phone.

For a weekly roster by name rather than a rotation, use the employee schedule maker.

Questions

How many crews do I need for 24/7 cover?

Divide the days in the cycle by the shifts per crew per day covered. With 12-hour shifts and each crew working half its days, 4 crews give one crew on days and one on nights at all times.
