How to convert

To decimal: hours + minutes / 60. 7 hours 45 minutes = 7 + 0.75 = 7.75. Back to minutes: the part after the point x 60. 7.4 hours = 7 hours + 0.4 x 60 = 7 hours 24 minutes. A common mistake is reading 7.30 as 7 hours 30 minutes; 7.30 hours is 7 hours 18 minutes. For whole durations in minutes, use hours to minutes.
