Days worked

Weekly, monthly and yearly hours

A full-time schedule of 8 paid hours, 5 days a week is 40 hours a week, 173.33 hours a month on average and 2,080 hours a year (40 x 52). Months are averaged because they hold between 4 and 5 weeks: 52 weeks / 12 = 4.33 weeks a month.

2,080 is the figure most employers use to turn an annual salary into an hourly rate. The real number of workdays in a year changes with the calendar: 250 weekdays in 2026 after the federal holidays, 249 in 2027 (see the business days calculator).
