Employee attendance tracker

A month at a glance: one row per employee, one column per day.

Type straight onto the sheet below or leave it blank, then print. Choose Letter or A4 at 100% scale (landscape sheets switch automatically). Nothing is uploaded; what you type is kept in this browser.

What it is: a monthly attendance grid with a row per employee and a column for each day, using a letter code: P present, A absent, L late, V vacation, S sick, H holiday.

How to score attendance

At the end of the month count each code per person. Attendance rate = days present / days scheduled x 100; enter the counts in the attendance percentage calculator. Keep protected leave separate: time off under FMLA must not count against an employee in an attendance policy, so mark it with its own code.

Visitors and trainings are easier on a sign-in sheet.

Questions

Should vacation count as an absence?

Usually not. Approved vacation, holidays and protected leave are normally left out of the days scheduled, so only unplanned absences lower the rate.

How do I mark half days?

Use a code such as P/A or write the hours in the cell, then count half days as 0.5 in the totals.
