What it is: a one-day log with a line per task or job, each with its own start and end time, for client billing, job costing or anyone who splits a day between projects.
Logging tasks through the day
Write the start time when you switch tasks, not at the end of the day; memory drifts by 15 to 30 minutes on most entries. The hours for each line are end minus start. At the end of the day the lines should add up to your total paid time. To see how much of the day was billable, use the billable hours calculator.

Questions
How detailed should a daily timesheet be?
Enough that someone else could tell what the time was for: client or job, task, and times. Billing clients often want 6-minute (0.1 hour) accuracy.
